FOR ONCE!

scandalous! ; shopping

E-BAY STORE
I often am amazed at other people's ebay finds- mostly because the lots
that are great are often really expensive to boot. Or at least, go for more than I am
willing to pay. I got my Laura Ashley dress from scandalous1985 and when i first
bid on it, i was expecting it to shoot right up.
Encouraged by the incredibly reasonable price I got it for, I bid for this gorgeous
vintage highwaist skirt;

unfortunately, it ended up going for £18, which is really out of my price range!
I might have to have a go at making one, or customising one I may or may not
find at a charity shop. I wish I was taking a sewing machine away with me...+hint hint, mum!!+

Also listed is American Apparel-esque lace dress;

and this top from h&m;

Although I don't think it would suit me, it reminded me of this look by Agthe of Style Bytes;

I also found out yesterday that she is still posting, but here.
I hope she's well, and happy.

BUT I JUST WANT TO STAY.

I leave to go to University in a week. I'm not ready to leave my boyfriend.
I don't like growing up.

CHECK IT OUT
Last month, I was approached by the lovely Emma, who is the editor of the new zine,
Pocketto. She asked me to do some illustrations based around the theme of
'ruffles and cupcakes' . I was so excited about this, and I'm really chuffed
with having them included in the zine! You can read Emma's blog here.

IN THE POST
Today I got this gorgeous vintage Laura Ashley dress in the post.
I won it on ebay for only £7 posted, and although at first I wasn't sure about the
neckline, I really am pleased with it now (:

The print is light pinks and greens, with a navy background. I hope this will
make it more versatile for autumn as well as spring and summer.
Also, from a distance the pattern looks a bit like lace.

TAGGED! ; polaroids

TAGGED!
I was tagged by the lovely Mila of Loveology, with the 'Habit Tag'.
I wish I could take new polaroids for each, but I'm afraid my budget doesn't stretch that far!

not quite flying ; outfit

BUT VERY JEALOUS.

I harbour a secret (well, not anymore...) desire to make this duvet cover into
a dress. It's so amazing. And old. 26 years, in fact.
My boyfriend stayed over last night, and we both woke up with alcohol induced illnesses.
We suck. To be fair, it might be my mother's stomach bug...
Anyway, this resulted in not actually going to work, but instead going to pick up
my little brother from Shoreham airfield where he got to fly in a Catalina.
My dad is obsessed with this plane. He's written two books about them, and is
the Editor of the Catalina News. How sad.
Anyway. I'm insanely jealous that brother dear got to fly and I didn't.
The hull of the plane looks like a boat, because it can land on water.

skulls ; polaroids

IN THE CHURCH.

I took this polaroid in Leuk, Switzerland. It was in a Roman chuch, a
really weird place. All of the walls were lined with skulls. There was also the
most macabre crucifix I have ever seen. I didn't photograph it because
I found it really disturbing.

...IN MY HEAD

TSHIRT- H&M
TROUSERS- TOPSHOP
Today I've been sorting out all of my art supplies for university (TWELVE DAYS!)
My mum was sick also, so I wore things that I'd never wear out, ever.
Although, it looks a lot less sloppy than I expected, so I might experiment more with
these trousers...

HIGH-WAISTED TROUSERS- G.A.P
FLORAL SHIRT- PRIMARK

I'm pleased with these finds. I've been looking for a pair of flattering high-waisted trousers
for a while now.
Although I originally wanted 'nautical' ones, i think these are more versatile.
I was surprised at how flattering they were (although the lighting isn't very forgiving in these)
and even more surprised at the price; £6.99, down from £35.
The shirt too; i saw this very shirt over a year ago on boohoo.com
and SINCE THEN I've been
trying to decide whether to get it. That's sad, isn't it. Anyway, I saw this in Primark (shame...) and decided
just to go for it.
